PHT 121 Introduction to Health Education and Promotion

GOAL: This course is designed to enable students acquire knowledge and skills on how to help communities appreciate the needs for the practice of healthy living

GENERAL OBJECTIVE: On completion of the course, the student should be able to:

1. Understand the basic concepts of Health Education and promotion 

2. Understand the importance of adequate planning in the implementation of effective health education and promotion 

3. Understand the elements of good communication in Public Health stand the importance of adequate planning in the implementation of effective health education and promotion

4. Identify the various audio-visual aids used in health education and promotion and how to prepare them

5. Understand the preparation of teaching /health talk for the various group of clients in the community 

6. Identify the strategies for effective health education in the community
