Making a sketch map of the community using established symbols for major roads, rivers, markets, etc.,
Making a list of resources available in the community for instance schools, industries, health facilities, churches, mosques, etc.
Making a list of cultural practices and attitudes affecting health.
Describing social customs and important festivals of the community.
Making a list of infrastructure in the community for example electricity, water supply, transportation system etc.

Conducting an interview/survey of the Focus groups in the Community.
Collecting information from the community.
Writing report using the Federal Ministry of health format.
Giving feedback to the community.
Submitting report to the local government area, state Federal ministry of health and/or as applicable

health services (modern and traditional), manpower resources

SITUATTON ANALYSIS
Situation Analysis - is the process of finding out the actual status of health in a given community.
The ten steps necessary for planning and carrying out situation analysis are:
Contacting the local government area.
Contacting the development committee,
Obtaining instruments to be employed.
Obtaining coding tally-sheet and guidelines for writing report
Select interviewers
Practicing with the interviewers
Arranging for snacks and transportation for the interviewers,
Conducting situation analysis using Federal Ministry of Health guideline,
Collating data from the community
Writing report using Federal Ministry of Health guideline.
