Hold the probe gently but firmly

Hold Like a Pen
Use three fingers: thumb, index, and middle. Your wrist must be relaxed.
Apply Gel
Put a good amount of gel on the patient’s skin or directly on the probe.
Place the Probe on the Skin
Touch the skin gently and steadily.
Move Slowly
Move side to side, up and down, or rotate as needed—watch the image on the screen.
Adjust Angle if Needed
Tilt the probe to improve the view (this is called “angling”).
Pressing too hard
